word 2003

I have this window that keeps popping up in word 2003

"this application is about to initializ ActiveX controls
that might be unsafe. If you trust the source of this
document, select yes and the control will be initialized
using your document settings"

This occurs everytime I just open the Word program. This
just happened starting last week and after that, the font
that I was using (Eurostile) was deleted. Is there a way
that I can stop the window from popping up and to get the
font back? Thanks.

This sounds as though something has installed in Word's startup. If you
haven't installed anything yourself, then I'd suspect some third party crap
has been installed insidiously. First, try starting Word in Safe Mode: this
will start Word in its default install mode ignoring all add-ins. Use Start,
Run and type in

winword /a

and press Enter. Does Word open without the error now? If it does, you need
to look in Word Startup and check installed macros to see what has been
added to your installation that is causing the problems.

Terry - I found this thread via a search for a problem I am experiencing. I
started recieving this same error on several machines running Office XP.
Exhausting all methods of troubleshooting I removed Office XP and did a clean
install. That fixed the problem. However, as soon as SP2 is applied, the
problem re-occurs. Any Ideas?

This is a security feature. Providing you trust the source, let it initiate
ActiveX.
