Word 2003

Since I don't want to pay Microsoft for help, will shout out to the community
to see if someone knows...
I purchased an HP Media Center Computer that came pre-installed with Windows
XP/Office 2003, which included the standard editions of Word 2003, Excel
2003, Power Point 2003 and Outlook 2003. I stay on top of all my updates for
each of these programs. I am taking some online college courses and have
found that in the Word templates there are no XML Schema. The only tabs
available are when I click on Tools, Templates and Add-Ins are "Templates and
Linked CSS". Are not XML Schemas available on this standard version of Word
2003? If not, is there a way to download these? Also, have found that there
is no "Web Page Wizard" or Web Page Template available, is this a feature
that has been removed? How can I install? I have not been successful in
searching the Microsoft websites. All other wizards are there....

Also, the big dollar question, is there a way to "upgrade" my standard
edition of Office to either business or professional with out purchasing the
whole bundle. I have installed Access 2003, so it appears to me that I now
have everything that is in the Professional Edition.

Thanks for all the help you folks have given me in the past, hope to hear
some solution/answers on these questions....

Sounds like you have an illegal installation of Access 2003 on
your computer.

XML support is included in Office 2003 Professional Edition and
in standalone Word 2003. Office 2003 Standard is not a
qualifying product for upgrade pricing to Office 2003
Professional, but see
http://www.microsoft.com/office/editions/howtobuy/professional.mspx
for a list of other software products you might own that do
qualify for upgrade. If you don't own one of the qualifying
products, then you need to purchase the full (not upgrade)
version of Office 2003 Professional to get XML support and a
legal license for Access 2003.

The Web Page Wizard is included in Office 97, Office 2000, and
Office XP, but not in Office 2003. See
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/893676/en-us "When you try to
create a new Web page as an HTML document, you cannot find the
Web Page Wizard in Word 2003" and
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/assistance/HP052222721033.aspx
"Create a Web page".

Thanks for getting back to me, I really appreciate it. My Access 2003 is
legal as I purchased it at one of the huge office supply chain stores and it
is a genuine MS product, and I have registered my product with MS. Thanks for
the concern, and for your help.

I have the same problem with Tools missing the XML Schema Tab; what did you
do to obtain it?

I wasn't able to do anything to obtain it. Apparently it is not available on
the Standard Edition of Office, only the professional or business editions. I
haven't been able to figure out how to obtain it and install it. Hopefully
this will not be something that I have to use in the near future....thinking
about upgrading to the Office 2007 editions....Sorry I was unable to give you
more information.
