I have both a PowerPC-based Mac and an Intel based Mac. Both have
Office 2004. On the Intel based Mac, I have been unable to designate
in the envelope section of Word the placement of a delivery point
barcode. the check off box is unavailable. I have updated as
required and also reloaded the program. Any suggestions / solutions?

Updated as required: Including the 10.4.8 Apple patch? Try re-running
that.

It may not have any effect :)

Cheers

If you reinstalled Office *after* updating you'll most likely need to apply
the Office updates again, as well - and for future reference, reinstalling
Office is *rarely* a cure for anything and can cause even more problems if
it isn't done correctly (including a proper uninstall using the Remove
Office utility).

The 10.4.8 apple patch I do not see on Microsoft download page.

Nor would expect to. Try Apple's "Software Update..." lurking behind
that blue apple thing in the top left of your main screen.
