Word 2004 annoyance: position of buttons in bottom bar - lost onthe right

You know the status bar at the botttom of the Word screen? It has a
button for turning Track Changes on and off. When I have a document open
at normal A4 size (210 mm wide), this button is missing. I have to widen
the window to see it. This obscures other things on the screen behind
and is annoying.

How do I move the elements in the bottom bar around so I can see this
button in the middle of the window?

Alternatively, how do I make the font size smaller so everything fits?
(That is, the size of text that MS Word displays in the bottom bar -
and, while we're at it, in various windows - not the document text.)

It's "ToolsRevisionMarksToggle"

Sorry. The status bar (that's the bottom bar with the TRK and EXT buttons)
is not customizable. You can't control font size or location. Didn't realize
the status bar had gotten more spaced out in Word 2004, that seems odd since
most everything else on my machine tightened up. Oh well.

Is there a System preference that MS Word picks up for these sizes that
I can change? Unlikely, I know.
There is a predefined command to turn Track Changes on and off that already
exists in Tools | Customize. You could put that on a toolbar and ignore the
status bar (which I personally keep turned off). You lose the green button,
of course, but the icon should change state to signify TRK is on.
Unfortunately I can't find the command name in Tools | Customize right now,

It's "ToolsRevisionMarksToggle". The "Track Changes" button on the
Reviewing tool bar does what you suggest.
