When I select a word, paragraph or any short section of my document
and then choose bold, italic, centre or anything else, Word 2004
changes my entire document to bold, italic or whatever - exactly as if
I'd done Select All first.
Bizarrely, after it's done this, the original selected text remains
highlighted and if I choose Undo, the document returns to how it was -
but the words in my selection keep their new bold, italic or whatever.
I thought I'd got used to just choosing, say, Apple-B and immediately
Apple-Z but it's just wrecked some reasonably tricky formating.
Unfortunately, that wrecked passage of text was 20,000 words behind me
so I didn't see it when I saved and closed the document, thereby
ending any chance of just standing on the Undo function until it
sorted things out.
Am I doing something silly? I would love someone to say I was, and
explain it so I can stop doing it!
And - on an unrelated issue - did Microsoft change the navigation
keystrokes since Word X?
