I have weird problem with word 2004 on several OS 10.2.8 mac´s. I
can´t select any fonts from formatting palette or font menu because
they are totally black?

Tried to delete the whole "Microsoft" folder from preferences, but it
will not do fix the problem. I copied the preferences from a machine
that has "normal" behaving Word, and it helped... for a while.

Has anyone seen this before?

I haven't, but that doesn't mean it doesn't happen. Have you tried running
Disk Utility/Repair Disk Permissions?
