Word 2004 can't print a range of pages... Is this a bug?

Just installed Office 2004 and had the program install all the updates.

Whenever I try to print a ranges of pages from a long document, it
won't print those ranges of pages. Instead it prints all the pages in
the document.

At first I thought this might be a software issue. I trashed the app
(including all prefs) and reinstalled, but still same results.

Next I thought it was a print driver issue, but I got the same results
when printing to other printers.

When previewing the document, it previews the entire doc and not the
range of pages selected. When printing as a pdf file, the pdf file has
all the pages and not the selected range.

For the hell of it, I tried printing a range of pages from Excel 2004
and this instance it worked so the issue must only be with Word 2004.

Given all that I've done, I'm thinking that this is a serious bug in
Word 2004?

Can anyone else confirm this and replicate this issue? Or has this
issue already been posted and is there a work around fix for this?
Thanks.

I haven't tried printing a range of pages, but when I've tried to print
current page I only get the first page of the document and not the page my
cursor was on (which was how it used to work). I have heard others in my
office haven't had luck with page ranges either.

How are you specifying the range of pages?

If there are multiple section breaks involved, you need to take great care
when specifying the ranges. That's likely to be your problem.

Check the help topic "Print specific pages and sections" to make sure you
are doing it right.

Trashing the application and re-installing is likely to have no effect at
all, unless you have run the Office remover tool. I have almost never heard
of any part of the Microsoft Office applications going bad on the hard disk.
What goes bad are the preferences and such that are created after
installation. On re-installation, these are not replaced if they already
exist. Having them in the trash can constitute "already exist" unless you
empty the trash.

"print current page" has worked for me when I am in Print Preview looking at
the current page. Have not risked trying it any other way.
