Word 2004 compatibility check

D

Don McBride

When I run a compatibility check on an old word document created in
windows it says "word 6.0/95 compatibility set"
fix is grayed out
it says to go to preferences and change it to 2000-2004 compatibility, I
checked that and saved but still get the same message. now there is not
2000-2004 option in preferences.

How about File/Save As/Word Document? Then do a compatibility check on the
new 97-2004-type document you just saved.

The thing at the top, where it says "recommended options for", is a
popup menu. If you pop it up, it will list Word 2004 among the options.
Choose that. Now click OK.

Does that do it? m.
