Word 2004 crashing with certain files

Help,
I'm running Mac OS X 10.5.4, Word 2004 v. 11.5.0 on an Intel iMac.

I have a series of documents that will not open on my iMac. They will, however, open in Word 2004 on my MacBook (same software versions as iMac) and in Word on a PC.

I have removed and re-installed Office multiple times, eliminated duplicate fonts, and deleted the 'normal' file, and files in my preference folders with no changes.

For now, Word opens on the iMac but it will not open these specific documents. Any ideas?
