Word 2004 doesn't launch

Hi

I'm running MS office 2004 (11.2.3) on Tiger (10.4.6) and starting last
night, I have been unable to launch word:mac 2004. While all other MS office
programmes launch fine, word bounces once, displays the splash, and just
hangs there (along with the lovely spinning beach ball). My only option has
been to force quit and that menu, as well as the activity monitor, reports
that word is "not responding"

I greatly appreciate any information that any of you can give.

Hi Felix -

The first step is to use Disk Utility to Repair Disk Permissions. If that
doesn't resolve it, see the troubleshooting steps you'll find here -
especially those pertaining to the Normal template & preferences;

It turned out that the preferences files were corrupted. Word works fine now
