Word 2004 Font menu problem

I can't change fonts from the Font menu unless I have WYSIWYG font menu
turned on. If it is on, everything works as expected. If it is not, I can't
change fonts. The work-around obviously is to use WYSIWYG font menu, so it
is not a major problem. I have this on two different Macs. Rebuilding the
font cache has no effect. Does anyone else have this problem?

I sure don't, but it looks like a corrupted pref... You should try trashing
some of the Office prefs (or at least moving them to the desktop to test )
and relaunching Word.
