Word 2004 for Mac Crashing!

I have a VERY annoying and debilitating problem where my Word 2004 for
Mac will crash the program when I type a combination of letters in my
document. I am still investigating, but it seems like xtru as in
extrude will crash every time, but there are others. Any clues?

Sounds like an Autocorrect problem. What happens when, with all Office
apps closed, you rename the "Microsoft Office ACL [English]" in the
~:Libraryreferences:Microsoft folder.

If that doesn't work, rename the file back (assuming you have
autocorrects). You can follow the steps at
