I'm trying to help my Dad solve a problem with Word 2004 (11.3) running
on a Power PC iMac with mac OS X Tiger (10.4.8).
When entering Unicode polytonic Greek characters (using the polytonic
Greek keyboard), eventually Word will hang with a spinning beach ball.
I read reports of similar sounding problems so I tried everything they
suggested: deleting Office and System font caches, using FontDoctor to
delete possibly corrupted fonts and duplicate fonts, using Linotype
Font Explorer to clean the system fonts folders, deleting the Normal
file. However, nothing worked. In fact I now have a document with which
I can reliably reproduce the problem -- I can post it if that can help.
Any suggestions would be much appreciated. I'd also like to know if
this is a known issue or a new one.
Thanks in advance!
