Word 2004 for MAC (PID states its the Student/Teacher edition)

I cannot get Word to print in reverse print order, no matter what I
try. Who wants to re-collate 80 pages or even three? HELP!

Before anyone wastes time grasping at straws you may have already blown into
the wind, why not tell us exactly what you *have* tried? If the simple Print
Preference for Reverse Print Order isn't working for you there is a problem
that needs to be addressed, but nobody can help without sufficient
information.

I updated Office, then ran Disk Utility, both verify, verify
permissions (found some incorrect ones), then ran repair permissions.
Do I need to update the printer driver? That is my next option.
Thanks.

Are you aware there are two places to specify print order? One in Word
Prefs,(print » printing options) the other in the print dialogue
itself. (in paper handling, hiding behind the copies and pages at least
for OS X 10.4.10 It was once in copies and pages itself). Under some
circumstances they might cancel one another out.

It often seems there is magic at work in this area. If not sheer bloody
mindedness.

I've checked both print locations and they are set on "reverse print"
order, but the printer still is not doing reverse printing. When I
reinstalled the printer driver, then downloaded updates, the scanner
no longer works. Ouch!

That's what I meant. One might cancel the other out. You are getting
reversed reversed print order.

If you have the Reverse set in *Both* locations youare reversing the
reversal:) Set it to reverse page order in only *one* of those locations. I
believe that's what Elliott explained in his earlier reply. FWIW, I leave
the printer setting as normal & control the reverse option through Word's
options on a per job basis, rather than as the default for the printer.

I've no idea why you reinstalled the printer driver & the updates, but since
you have you should also run Disk Utility - Repair Disk Permissions *again*
as well. Perhaps that will be enough to correct the scanner problem. BTW -
Verify Disk Permissions is pretty much a waste of time;)

Might be better off to reinstall the old driver.
Sometimes new drivers actually break things That are working see my tag
line in the signature.

If it's "fixed", don't "break it"!
