I have been using word 2004 for nearly 6 months and had no problems
until the last couple of days. the situation is that word opens, then
the coloured disc icon appears and word freezes. nothing further
happens other than the disc icon spinning. i have to force word to
quit.
just preceding the problem i updated the office 2004 files with the
auto update from Microsoft.
since the problem i have followed the advice on the help files, tried
rebooting the computer, uninstalling and reinstalling office. the
problem persists!
of note when the upgrade was rolled back word would hang but offered a
dialogue box referring to a failure of the framework libraries. excel
and entourage would not load until the updates were reloaded.
What do i need to do to get Word working again?
