Word 2004: OLE bookmarks are now worse than ever - how can we avoid them

O

Oz Springs

If I drag and drop (to duplicate) anything in Word, or copy and paste
(not paste special) the result is that I create an OLE bookmark and
the pasted item becomes a field.

I don't want my bookmarks cluttered up with unwanted OLEs! I have
**real** bookmarks there. And I don't want unwanted fields in the same
document!

How can we turn this bug (sorry, "feature") off? Surely we can have
some choice in this. I looked at an earlier reply by John McGhie on 4
July 2002 (or 7 April 2002) but all that does is remove the fields,
not the bookmark.

In any case we should have a choice as to whether we want the *#@*#*
OLEs or not.

Thanks for any help
