Word 2004 Print Setup not saving defaults.

J

Jay Calderwood

Hi All,

I am using Word 2004 sp1 on OS X (10.3.8). When I look at my settings
under page setup I change the paper size from Letter (small) to US
Letter. Then under settings I select save as default. I then go about my
printing and I close word. When I reopen word the old settings are still
there. I have removed the Word Preferences file. What else can I do?

TIA

Hi Jay,

This is a known issue and in the next few days, I will be posting an article
about it to the Word site in my signature. If you send me a private email
with "ChangePrintDefault" in the subject line (and a valid return address),
I will be glad to email you back with the article attached. It contains a
workaround to change the default.

Thank you. This worked like a charm.

Thanks again,

Thanks for reporting back, Jay. You're actually the first person to test
this all the way through deleting and re-adding the printer. I only went as
far as hacking the driver myself, to be sure I understood the hard part (I
just wrote the article; I didn't invent the workaround). Good to know it
all works!

Cheers,

Beth
