Word 2004 table doubling issue

Hi,
if anyone can help it would be much appreciated!
i have a document in landscape. I have a table on a page of it with 6
columns and 3 rows.
When i get to the bottom of the page while typing in the second column
of my second row the table should just continue onto the next page.
Instead what is happening is that on the next page of the document an
exact copy of what i have typed already in the table appears -
basically an exact copy of the table thus far. When i click on this
copy or try to type on it, it immediately brings me back to the same
position in the original table - weird!
has anyone ever come across this.
I am running latest mac os with all updates and office 2004 for mac
with all updates.
thanks,
john

I haven't experienced this [IIRC] nor have I been able to replicate it here,
so I really don't know exactly what to suggest other than checking some of
the items discussed on this page:

http://word.mvps.org/faqs/tblsfldsfms/ControlPgBrksInTables.htm

(You may have to 'reload' the page once or twice if using Safari.)

If that doesn't put it right, post back with as much additional detail as
you can including the current settings in Table>Properties for each Row &
the paragraph format settings, etc.

Hi Johnny:

The only other thing it could be is "Allow rows to break across pages".

That needs to be switched on for each row in Table>Table Properties>Rows...

Normally I would advise people to switch that OFF, because normally you
don't want a table row to break across more than one page. However, if you
have one column that is too tall to fit on the remainder of the page, Word
will split the whole row to the following page. If one of those columns
contains only one row, Word will split the whole table...

I still believe it's more likely to be Heading Rows Repeat: that would
produce exactly the symptom you describe. It's rather difficult to produce
this condition with "Allow rows to break across pages".

Hope this helps
