Hi Jack:
Sorry: No-one is going to respond directly
That's like red rag to a
bull to UseNet users. We post here publicly so all may share, all may
contribute, and all may learn: if you want one-on-one support, Microsoft
provides that, by telephone or email, on a fee-per-incident basis. (I
wouldn't bother ringing them: if they knew the answer, so would we...)
It sounds like you may not yet have applied Service Release 1 for Word 2004?
The issue you are experiencing is a bug that was fixed in that service
release. See:
http://www.microsoft.com/mac/downloads.aspx?pid=download&location=/mac/downl
oad/office2004/update_sp1.xml&secid=4&ssid=12&flgnosysreq=True
Look at
http://word.mvps.org/MacWordNew/DiskFullErrorContent.htm for more
information.
If you "have" applied SR-1, you may find it helps to reboot your system:
that will clean up the temporary files that may have got themselves
"stranded" (i.e. Temporary files left open when they should have been closed
and deleted).
If you can, you may also wish to turn File Sharing off in System
Preferences. If it's the problem I think it is, that won't cure it, but it
may make it much less frequent.
Please get back to us if this does not solve the problem: there are other,
more laborious things we can try.
Hope this helps
Word 2004 won't quit automatically. I continue to receive this error
code: "Word cannot save or create this file. the disk may be full or
write-protected. Try one or more of the following: Free more memory.
make sure that the disk you want to save the file on is not full write
protected or damaged.(Word Work FileA.669602893.
I am confused as I do not know how to free more memory and have plenty
of HD space left.
Please respond directly.
thanks,
