I have been unable to delete old documents in my Word folder. I can't find a way to send them to trash or drag them to trash permanently. I tried going through finder and was able to delete them there but they are still in the Word folder.

Thanks for advice.

Hello Laurie,

You can't delete/trash a document from within Word 2004.

In the Finder, I click once on the file name, then key Command-Delete to
move a file to Trash. To empty Trash, I key Command-Shift-Delete.

It's a good idea to save your Word files (and anything else, for that
matter) into your Documents folder, or a subordinate folder within it,
rather than save into your Word folder within the applications folder.
