Word 2004's Notebook Layout & the Dreaded Perpetual Pinwheel

I love using Word's notebook feature for taking notes in lecture, but
find that if often crashes when flipping between tabbed pages and when
adding/modifying text in the header. Does anyone know of an easy fix
fit for a novice?

Because cursing has solved nothing thus far,

Curse louder, Sharyn, the Bill can't hear you.

Hi Sharyn,

Sorry for delay--I'm not entirely sure to what degree this holds true for
Notebook Layout issues, but in general--

Such consistent and reproducible problems in Word usually respond to one of
the standard troubleshooting measures, which you will find listed here:

http://word.mvps.org/MacWordNew/TroubleshootingIndex.htm
(hit reload a few times in Safari, or use a different browser)

Work through them one by one until something helps. If nothing does, post
back. The most common culprit is a corrupted Normal template or damaged
Preferences file.

The pages walk novices through the process and are general troubleshooting
tips for most problems. :)
