Word 2007 - 2003

I used to be able to open Word 2007 documents in Word 2003, taking advantage
of the compatability pack. It is still installed, but I can no longer open
the 07 documents in 03.
Please advise what I should look for as a potential problem?

Is the document you are trying to open a *.DOC file or a *.DOCX file ?

THey are docx documents.

I don't think Word 2003 was designed to work with DOCX files.

I don't think Word 2003 was designed to work with DOCX files.

That's what the Compatibility Pack that the OP is talking about is designed
to do....
