Word 2007 Adobe Problem

T

Tintin

Word 2007 does not seem to let me convert documents in word 2003 format to
pdfs using the adobe acrobat conversion, not the word pdf save file option.
If I open adobe acrobat writer it starts converting but gets stuck at 99%
conversion. When I open my word document and try to convert it via the
add-ins I simply click and nothing at all happens.

Any suggestions?

Make sure that you have Word 2007 beta 2 installed. The option was not
present in beta 1. I would guess that Adobe does not recognise Word 2007
yet.

I have the beta 2 installed. So it must be that Adobe does not recognize Word
2007 yet which is surprising as the format is the Office 97-2003 compatible
file.

And the pdf converter is still creating problems as word converts it
wrongly. But I think Microsoft has already (very unfortunate) pulled this
feature, right?

Hi Tintin,

No, MS has not eliminated the ability to save to PDF from Office 2007, the change is that it will be a download add-in for those who
want it rather than part of the product CD.

You didn't mention what you're finding incorrect in the
Office Button[file]=>Save As=>PDF choice in Office 2007 but you can send the details and screenshots directly to the MS Office
product team using the 2007 feedback tool from the link below.

It's not the file format that would generally be the issue but the Adobe add-ins have, unfortunately, a habit of not being the best
behaved automation add-ins. :) The changes in the Word interface, for example, may be a cause for the Add-in to be updated.

Using the full version of Acrobat, I find that I get consistently good
results from Word 2007 by printing to the Adobe print driver. In Beta 2, I
haven't had any problems using Word's built-in converter, either--works fine
here for both Word 2007 and 97-2003 documents, although I find the quality
to be a bit less than that from Adobe itself.
