Word 2007 and Adobe Reader Conflict

Word 2007 crashes on exit if I have used Adobe Reader (v.9) while Word was
open. Is there a known conflict? I thought the conflict was Acrobat.com so I
deleted that program.

Are you using Adobe Reader 9.1.0? It should not have anything to do with
Word. Only Acrobat Professional PDF creator plugs in to Office and causes
problems. But the latest update has sorted that out.

Are you using an HP printer driver?
Have you tested in Safe Mode?

From Start, Run, type in

winword /a

and press enter. That starts Word in Safe Mode. Does it close OK now?

I am using Adobe 9.1.0. I also have an HP printer driver. I have tested in
safe mode and it closes correctly. Word usually closes properly in standard
mode as well. Only after viewing a document in Adobe does it seem to have a
problem.

I cannot seem to reproduce this where I am using AR 9.1.0 and Word 2007 sp2,
so I suspect that it must be some other third party add-in or possibly
printer driver. Check that you have the latest printer driver and then
delete and reinstall the printer.

Check that your temp folder is empty. With all applications closed
(preferably after a fresh reboot), you user temp folder should be empty:
make it so.

Then check to see if you have any other third party add-ins. If you do,
disable them and test again.
