Word 2007 application issues

I posted a thread a few days ago and got an email with a couple links in it
to help resolve my problem. When I clicked on the links they both opened a
new window with NO information in either one. Help!

I have Office Sm Biz 2007 and have many Word docs that I've created.
Everything was working fine and all of a sudden I can't open a document w/dbl
click. I can open the Word app and then open a saved doc but once it's
opened (saved or new)the mouse won't work and no formatting is available.
All other apps in Office work fine.

Additionally, all of a sudden, when I leave my computer untouched for 5
minutes it attempts to shut down. When I try to get back on I have to
restart the computer and it comes up asking if I want to start in safe mode
or regular mode. If I continue working on the computer (up to 2.5 hrs), it
does not attempt to shut down.

Terry,

I am running Vista. I have not installed any additional software. I did
finally get Word to work after following steps found in a similar post.
Upgraded the latest patch. I did do an Office 2007 upgrade. Office 2003 is
stil installed as well as Works.

I think I read another post regarding shutting down and the suggestion was
that there may be a power or electrical issue. The Word issue started a week
before the shutting down issue started. I don't think they are related
either.

What's a user to do?
