Word 2007: Asian layout phonectics guide is empty

Similar to the problems other seem to have expierienced with Word 2003 I have
trouble with teh phonetics guide in Word 2007. I use simplified Chinese quite
a lot in my job and I would like to be able to display to pinyin with the
characters. Does anybody know how to get it to work - I have tried to install
Word 2003 from my previous office pack but as I run Windows Vista this has
not been possible to do.
