Word 2007 - bulleted list

When I type and asterisk (*) and press Tab and then type something and press
Enter, it does not create a bulleted list. It keeps the asterisk there and
does not replace it with a bullet. Why? It is suppose to automatically
create a lsit... A co-worker tried it and it works on hers.

Maybe check this: Office-button - Options for Word - Review - AutoCorrection
options - AutoFormat as you type tab - is there a check next to Automatic
bullets?

Another possibility is to use the Ctrl+Shift+L shortcut, which applies the
built-in List Bullet style.
