Word 2007 cannot open a document after syncronizing between comput

I use Word 2007 on a Vista machine at home and am on Word 2002 on XP Pro at
the office. I have run into a problem opening documents that were created
in Word 2007 and then edited in Word 2002. I installed SyncToy to sync my
Word 2007 files here to a flash drive. I then imported the Word 2007
document on the flash drive to my network at the office, and edited it in
Word 2002. (Our office uses the Worldox document management system). I
then sync the file back to the flash drive to edit it at home using Word
2007. However, when I try to open the file, I get the following message:
"word experienced an error trying to open the file". I tried opening the
file in "Open and Repair" but I get the same message. I can open the file in
"recover text from any file" under "all files" but this destroys the
formatting. This was never a problem until recently - particularly, after
using SyncToy (I uninstalled SyncToy but continue to get the same message).
I do not have this problem with files that are in Word 2002 format. I hated
to uninstall SyncToy because it is a great utility. Any suggestions as to
how to fix this? Thanks in advance!
