Word 2007 Color Scheme

Hi All

In Word 2007, there are 3 color schemes available (Black, Blue & Silver). I
find that all of them have a low color contrast that makes it much more
difficult than it was in previous versions for me to see text in the
ribbon/menu area. Are there any additional color schemes available for
download?

Thanks for the help.

There are no other options in Word. However, Windows has options to change
to a High Contrast Theme to assist those with a visual impairment.
Right-click in the empty desktop and select Properties. Under Themes you
will find several High Contrast options to chose from.

Hi Terry

Thank you for responding to my question. I do not have a visual impairment
that requires a change to the high contrast option in the Accessibility group
in Win XP Pro. My problem is specifically with the included color schemes in
Word 2007 & Excel 2007. Fortunately for me, I only use Word & Excel when I
receive a highly formatted file that doesn't translate well in either
WordPerfect or Quattro Pro.

Does Vista use the same low-contrast color schemes as Office 2007? If so,
Win XP will be going on my next new computer, too.

If you have a decent graphics card, then Vista runs Aero Glass which is
quite different. Office 2007 integrates into Vista better than in WinXP.
Whether you prefer it or not is hard for me to say. You'll need to try it
for yourself.

I have exactly the same problem / opinion as WPD. Like him/her, I am not
visually impaired, but compared to earlier Office versions the contrast in
the Office 2007 menus is poor. I have decided to use the "Black" scheme - not
because it is good, but it is at least not as bad as the other two.
Please, Microsoft - make another color scheme available! The Office 2003
layout (black letters on a quite bright background) was good, and I suppose
it would not be too difficult to create such a scheme.
