Word 2007 Comment Dates

Is there a way to remove the date and time stamp from the comments created in
word 2007? (From the bubble that pops up if you hover over the newly created
comment?)

No. That's the way it's designed to work, and there is no option to make it
work otherwise.

Just out of curiosity... I find the time/date essential in my work. Why
would you want to remove it?

I support a professor who grades papers digitally and leaves comments in the
document. This professor is concerned that some students will feel slighted
or mistreated if they see that she spent 3 hours on their paper versus a
student that she only spend 10 minutes on their paper. (Looking at the time
stamp of the first comment, and then looking at the time stamp of the last
comment).

But how would the student know that the professor didn't start reading the
paper, put it down and go to lunch, then resume work later? Or he could have
been interrupted by a zillion phone calls. There are times when it certainly
seems to take me three hours to get ten minutes' worth of work done!

If I wanted to get around that little obstacle, I suppose I might try
setting my computer clock back three hours, insert a comment at the
beginning of the paper, reset the clock, then insert another comment near
the end of the paper.

I just tried it, and it works pretty much as you would expect it to. Wow.
I've been working on this document for three hours!?! My... how time flies!

Hmmm... as a matter of fact, this could be useful. ;-)

Of course, total editing time still says 4 minutes, but that's not nearly as
conspicuous.
