Word 2007 Crashes Compatability Mode Repaginate

I'm using Word 2007 in compatability mode to edit my client's
2003 .doc, using their 2003 .dot template. Every time Word starts a
repagination, it crashes.

I have nothing in the Word Startup folder and I removed all add-ins.

Any ideas other than install Office 2003?

Have you got a good printer driver installed? Is it only this one document
that is causing problems? Have you tried the Open and Repair option with the
original file? If it still causes problems, try opening it and use SaveAs
choosing RTF format and close the document. Reopen the document as SaveAs
back as a Word Document.
