Word 2007 Crashes with certain tables

B

Bob

Hi,

I find this bug in Word 2007, but not in 2003. To recreate, do the
following:

1. Create the following bulleted, decimal tabbed line. " o The amount
charged is: .........$1.00 "
2. Create a table.
3. Copy/paste the paragraph created in step one and watch Word crash.
4. Repeat in Word 2003 and watch it work.

Note you must use bullets AND the tab MUST be a decimal.

I've seen this fail on both Vista and XP workstations.

Anyone have a fix?

Thanks,
Bob.

I can reproduce the error and have reported it.

A workaround I found is to add a manual tab and set it in the Hanging Indent
marker (like previous versions did to create the space after the bullet) and
the error will not occur. I can't recall if Word 2003 also used a tab with a
hanging indent or not. I suspect it does and why the error doesn't occur in
Word 2003.
