word 2007 crashes with cyrillic characters

I have recently installed Office 2007. When I try to open a Word 2002 file
with cyrillic characters, Word 2007 crashes once. It crashes as well when I
open a new document and try to write in cyrillic characters and when either
the end of the line is reached or when I press Enter. Keyboard layout was
generated with MS Keyboard Generator from the ordinary cyrillic/russian
keyboard layout. Operating system is XP Home.

Hello!

Probably it will not help (as you can not open _files_) but just to
try -
what would happen if you use Windows-own Russian keyboard layout?
I mean Add it from the list ("Russian"), switch keyboard to it, and
press any letters...

Hello!
Thank you very much for your advice. I changed to the original keyboard
layout but unfortunately Word crashed as well. "My" personal phonetic layout
is based on the original MS layout. Neither Excel nor Powerpoint seem to mind
cyrillic characters though. I will try and uninstall Word or try to repair it
if this is possible.

Hello!
I have found the solution. I noticed that I had still installed the old xp
proofing tools. After uninstalling them everything works fine, no more
problems with cyrillic documents. Great!
