Word 2007= crashing on opening any document

I am using a trial version of Microsoft Office which I'm sure is valid until
at least the end of September. I have been doing updates, as it recommends.
And now I am having great difficulty with my Microsoft Office Word, every
time I open the application it crashes within 60 seconds. It has only just
started happening in the last 48 hours. I have read through numerous forums
and attempted to change normal.docx to something else but cant find it. I've
made sure that I have printer drivers and have also checked add ins with none
of these seeming to be the cause of the issue. PLEASE advise as this is a
terrible inconvenience.

p.s. I have attempted to do the run- winword.exe /a with no luck and am not
getting an error msg other than "microsoft office word has stopped working"
and then another window "microsoft office word is attempting to recover" so I
don't think it has anything to do with NAV plug-in as I don't have it. Should
I begin with advanced troubleshooting?

OMG!! Terry, I had my doubts about what you said (regardless of the fact that
your an expert) because I really thought you just said that to everyone. BUT
YOU WERE RIGHT!! I had my uni network printer as my default and am currently
on my home network, so I just changed my default printer back to have my home
one selected- IT WORKED. Well it has been a few minutes. Wonderful. THANK
YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!

Maybe it's a sixth sense!

The explosion in Laptops over the last few years with more users having work
and home profiles, means it is far from an unusual occurrence.
