word 2007 crashing once in compatibility mode!

Hi all
Im having a difficult time making Word 2007 work! It can not open any
previous version word documents, every time i try to open any .doc document,
it only opens with compatibility mode in the bar thing then the program would
close saying "word has stopped working". I've tried to open .doc documents
from the word menu, dsnt work. word diagnose dsnt work neither since it says
no problems found.
I have Vista 64 bit, office ultimate 2007 suite. Excel and Powerpoint run
just fine in compatibility mode, only Word poses problems!

Sounds like a bad printer driver. But see
