word 2007 crashing when inserting address to envelope

Using Office home and student 2007 on new dell computer with vista. Bought
outlook later. Word crashes when I try to use the address book most of the
time, but works sometimes. Outlook people say it's a Word issue, warranty
has run out on Word, can someone please help? Thanks in advance -
