Word 2007 custom.dic disappears

Windows XP Pro with Office 2003 and Office 2007 installed. With Office 2003
only installed Custom.dic disappeared/deleted for no apparent reason. This
has happened repeatedly and continues with Office 2007. Any suggestions to
rectify this?
