Word 2007 defaults

I am having trouble setting the Times New Roman 12 font as a default. No
matter how I go about it it keeps reverting to Arial. Ihave tried styles and
font default button but nothing seems to work. I have tried the same method
on another standalone maching and this works perfectly. Has anybody any
ideas please?

If the method works on some machines but not on this one, then the problem
very likely is a corrupted corrupted registry entry or a corrupted
Normal.dotm. I would try first renaming or deleting the Data key, which is
located here in the registry:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Word

You can also try renaming Normal.dotm so that Word automatically creates a
new one.
