Word 2007: deleted document text keeps automatically appearing

Hi,

This is so strange that I hope I can describe it correctly...using Word
2007. I wrote a document and saved it. Since then every time I opened Word
the document text kept automatically appearing. I then deleted the document
hoping that this would stop the document from appearing and it did not.

So now the document is deleted but the text from the (deleted) document
keeps appearing every time I open Word. When I look at the black bar on the
top of the screen it says "Document1 - Microsoft Word"-but the text from the
old document is still there on my opening screen.

Any ideas on how to stop getting this text to appear would be greatly
appreciated. Thx.
