We have various templates on a server share for various tasks that we
perform. I have noticed (not sure if this is new in 2007 or not) that any
document created from those templates are still linked/conencted to the
template.
I first noticed this when I was opening a word doc on my local machine and
having to wait a significant amount of time before it was fully open. I then
noticed that it was creating the temporary file on the network share where
the template, that was used to create the docx, is located.
is there a way to remove this link to this network location? If that network
share is not accessible the pause in opening a file can be pretty sizable.
And for opening a word doc on my local machine that seem unreasonable.
Thank you.
