Word 2007 documents with Visio object -> PDF with bad image qualit

When attaching a Visio object into a Word 2007 document and then using the
PDF add-on from office.microsoft.com to save the document as PDF, the image
qualtiy in the Visio object gets distorted in some parts when viewing the PDF
document in Adobe Reader 8.x, but viewing it with Adobe Reader 7.x works.

A screenshot on how it looks can be found on
http://img503.imageshack.us/img503/1794/visiopdfimagequalityfw9.jpg - the top
cloud is shown correclty, but the bottom cloud gets black instead of the grey
shade.

I'm running Office 2007 Enterprise Swedish version with all released patches.

I'm experiencing some trouble with Visio obects in Word 2007 when converting
to PDF format as well. Some parts ia a few of my Visio objects images
displays incorrectly with wrong colors/lost shapes (for instance a blue and
green globe turns into a green square) when I import the object into a Word
document and convert it into PDF format.

I'm running a fully updated Office Enterprise 2007, english edition on Vista
x64 Enterprise. I have tried to convert to PDF format using
* MS PDF addon
* Adobe's addon to Word (Acrobat 8)
* printing to Adobe PDF printer
* PDF995
* Bullzip and
* CutePDF
but the problem remain.

I can, however, convert the Visio object to image format (such as png or
jpg) and use that in my Word document as a workaround even though the image
quality becomes quite poor. I can also import a Visio _document_ into my Word
document and get a slightly better image result, but there are still some
strange color effects where different instances of the same object renders
with differences in colors and/or nuances in the same image...

I would rather keep the object as is, so would singing the
happy-happy-joy-joy song if someone could share a solution to this problem...

I opened a support case about it. But the result just more or less confirmed
it to be an issue in Adobe Reader 8 with the handling of RGB/HSL schemes.

Micorsoft recommended the following workarounds since no fix will be
available from them:

- Save the Visio object as PDF
- Save it as an image before inserting it into Word
- Use Adobe Acrobat 7

My hopes now are that Adobe either can release a fix for this, or it is
already fixed in the upcoming Adobe Reader 9.

Just tried with Adobe Reader 9, and with this version the Visio objects are
now shown correctly when inserted in Word documents which are saved as PDF.

Adobe Reader 9 is only available in a few languages as for now, other
languages will be released later on, http://www.adobe.com/products/reader
