Word 2007: Drawing a new Textbox

Is there a simpler way of drawing a new textbox in my word document,
something along the lines of how it was in previous versions? (That is,
using just one click?)

I find it frustrating to have to insert a new textbox, as it takes several
clicks, mouse movements, and having to find the right button group in the
correct tab. I have been using Office 2007 since it came out and this item
still annoys me.

Even adding the textbox button to the QAT still makes me deal with a list of
"built-In" textboxes. I have to move my mouse to the "Draw Text Box" option
relegated to the bottom of the menu.

Am I missing something?

If there is some secret to this, I'd like to know it, too, but I think this
is just one of those frustrating limitations of Word 2007.

In fact there is a QAT button to satisfy your request.

In the Customize dialog, set the category to either Commands Not in
the Ribbon or All Commands. There are several Text Box commands in
there; you want the one that's just black&white and has a tooltip of
"Commands Not In The Ribbon | Text Box (TextBoxWordClassic)".

Clicking that button on the QAT immediately changes the cursor to the
crosshair shape for clicking and dragging to draw the box.
