word 2007 dropping off some characters when printing

good day everyone.

i created a document and save it as word 2007 document.
everything looks ok on the screen until i sent it the printer.

(i used pcl driver for our canon ir110)

on the output, some characters are dropped off all over the place.

then, i did save the same document in older version of word (2003).
(without changing anything.. just the version)

print the document using same printer and driver... output looks perfect...

any ideas on what may have happened?
