Word 2007 Equity Template Page Numbers in Shape

R

RD_Perkins

I have based a report on the Equity Report template. One of the nice features
is the page numbering located in a colored circle. If I strictly use the
template, added pages contain the correct page number. However if I try to
insert section breaks to show part of the report in landscape, or insert
pages from another report of the same template, the page numbers are not
correct, starting back with 0. I haven't had success with continue numbering
(most of the time the option isn't available in the shortcut menu), and I
think the page number was an inserted page number field. How do I fix this?

After you insert the Footer in the new section, on the contextual Header &
Footer Tools tab, click Page Number and then "Format Page Numbers". Then in
the dialog box, either change your starting page number for that section or
use the "Continue from previous section" option.

If you don't see the contextual Header & Footer Tools then right-click your
footer and click Edit Footer.

Glad to hear you are back in business. :)

Btw, perhaps you are thinking of the right-click, continue numbering method
for Lists? I don't recall this method for Page Numbering.
