Word 2007 - Error message opening word docs from Win7 Explorer

I have Office 2007 Ultimate running on Win7 RC1. Kaspersky AV is running.

When navigating to a Word document - local hard disk or USB drive - I get
the following error when double clicking a document to open it: "There was a
problem sending the command to the program."

If I start Word 2007 and then open the file from within Word it works fine.
I have disabled Kaspersky - some early postings have references to AV
software Zone Alarm" but I get the same error message.

Any suggestions appreciated.

Rich I'm having the same problem. Windows 7, word 2007. Exact same problem,
using avg free. Reinstall didn't fix it. Did you ever figure this out?

I have same problem. But it's fır excel for me
I have windows 7 and office 2010 internet security
I couldn't find solution
