Word 2007 - Error message upon startup of application.

OS Used: Windows Vista Ultimate 64bit
Office 2007 Professional Plus
PC is upto date on all Office & Windows patches.

Application: Word 2007

Problem: Upon loading up Word 2007 the following error message is displayed:

"Thunking Spooler APIS from 32 to 64 Process has stopped working.
A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will
close the program and notify you if a solution is available."

Looking in the application log the following details are logged:

- System

- Provider

[ Name] Application Error

- EventID 1000

[ Qualifiers] 0

Level 2

Task 100

Keywords 0x80000000000000

- TimeCreated

[ SystemTime] 2007-06-07T15:01:15.000Z

EventRecordID 3320

Channel Application

Computer W2000998

Security


- EventData

If anyone could shed some light on this problem it would be appreciated.

Has it been like this since new? It looks like a printer driver problem. The
first action I suggest is to go to the Printer Support site and download the
latest driver for Vista. Then delete the printer and reinstall it with the
new driver.

Hi Terry,

No it hasn't been like this since new. Apparently it started about a
couple of weeks ago.

I've downloaded the 64bit Vista drivers for the printer and followed your
instructions to the letter but the problem still remains.

It looks like a 64-bit spooler problem. I'd try the Vista Newsgroup with
this one.
