Word 2007 - error & shutdown constantly

A

Andrea

I have run the diagnostics, downloaded all updates, SP1. Use Win XP
Every time I use Word 2007, it crashes at least once. Sometimes just because
it is trying to load the menu options when I select tools such as Insert
Table or Insert Table Of Contents. I have to re-open, try again, let it
crash, and try again several times until it will finally put in the table,
TOC, or whatever. Also, copying and pasting leads to crashing... pretty much
anything other than straight typing.
Often shows message at the bottom of the screen that it is trying to connect
to printer, "press ESC to cancel". I don't have a printer hooked up, press
ESC and it either crashes or will paste what I want.
Help Me! I'm going crazy!

You almost answered your own question (thank you) <g>

Word MUST have a locally installed printer driver set as the Windows Default
printer. I am amazed that you have actually managed to open Word without one
available. It doesn't matter if you don't actually have a printer attached
but only that Word must see the driver.
