Hi Desperate,
For the purposes of the Office 2007 beta 256MB of RAM is the minimum system requirement, so if you have other apps/utilities or
addins running things may be slow or just not start.
See if the following helps
1. Use the Disk cleanup tool for Windows from
Start=>Programs=>Accessories=>System tools to clear your internet files and temporary file categories.
2. Use Start=>Search and looking for files named
~$*.*
and send those to the recycle bin then restart the computer and see if Word 2007 starts. (If you have Outlook 2007 running you may
need to close it).
If those steps don't work , then try starting Word in Office safe mode (hold ctrl key when starting Word) to see if that lets you
start Word. If that works, then in Word use
File(OfficeButton)==>Word Options==>Resources
and run the Office diagnostics.
==========
I just got Office 2007, but I am unable to open Word, everytime I click on
it, I get a message saying "There isn't enough memory or disk space to open
word."
I am sure I have enough memory (256MB) and disk space (40GB), I just don't
know why I can't open word.
I found on the internet that if I rename the normal.dot, word will run fine,
but that's not true for me, I renamed the file and word still give me the
same problem.
