I have a user running Office 2007 on Win XP Pro. She can open Word and then
open all files through the Office menu without a problem. However, if she
double-clicks on a .docx directly without opening Word, it can take 30
seconds + to open the file. The same files behave very differently depending
on how they are opened. It doesn't seem to matter if the files are located
on the local disk or a network drive. The Normal.dot has been recreated and
the diagnotic tool was run to no avail. Any and all suggestions would be
greatly appreciated!
