Word 2007 Formatting

B

Bob

Hi,

Am just looking at Word 2007. Notice there is a difference to the
formatting, ie when you hit carriage return it takes you to a new paragraph
rather than the next line.

How do you change this?

Regards

That's what a carriage return (I'm assuming the Enter key here) has always
done in Word, AFAIK.

Do you mean you want Enter to take you to a new line without adding space
between it and the previous line?

If so, you may find that setting the Format > Paragraph > Spacing > After:
to 0pt gives you the effect you're wanting. That will still give you a new
paragraph but it won't give you the spacing that is indicative of the
paragraph break.

Alternatively, Shift + Enter will give you a line feed without a new
paragraph.
